Presentation: Open Source Security Technologies
Open source technologies are all around us; this will be an introduction to the open source community and history as well as several defensive, passive and offensive tools which you as a technologist could start leveraging in your careers and organization.
Presenter: Gaelan Adams
Gaelan is a security researcher in Orlando, Florida with 10 years of professional experience in I.T. He is an award winning presenter, founding member of the Crooms Academy of Information Technology Alumni Association to raise scholarships for graduating high school students, active member of the Crooms Business Advisory Committee, and founding member of the Collegiate Cyber Defense Club at the University of Central Florida.
Mr. Adams has presented on infrastructure and open source technologies at several conferences including TechFest!, Design 4 Drupal, and several other Drupal and technology conferences. He has consulted and presented for companies and non-profits such as Education Development Center, Seminole State College, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Microsoft, Siemens and Acquia.
Mr. Adams holds several certifications in networking and systems administration and is currently pursuing a Bachelors in Information Technology at the University of Central Florida. He enjoys educating others in areas of cyber security and systems administration. In his free time, Mr. Adams practices playing his didgeridoo and electric guitar.
